Frequently Asked Questions

Are Smuuv Body red light therapy devices HSA/FSA eligible? +

Yes — both Lulu Pro LED Mask and Revi Pro+ are eligible through Flex. Plan rules can vary, so it’s always a good idea to confirm eligibility with your provider.

What are HSA and FSA accounts, and what are the benefits? +

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) let you set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible healthcare expenses. Smuuv Body has partnered with Flex so you can use your HSA/FSA dollars on approved devices like Lulu Pro and Revi Pro+. If you’re unsure whether you have one of these accounts, check with your employer or insurance provider.

How it works +
  1. Add your Smuuv Body device (Lulu Pro or Revi Pro+) to your cart.
  2. At checkout, select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” under payment options.
  3. Complete the quick Flex form and enter your HSA/FSA card details.
  4. If required by your plan, Flex will provide a Letter of Medical Necessity, valid for 12 months, straight to your inbox.
How do I pay with my HSA or FSA card? +

Add Lulu Pro or Revi Pro+ to your cart as normal. At checkout, choose “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” as your payment option, enter your HSA/FSA debit card details, and click "Pay Now" to complete your order.

Tip: If you don’t see the option, you may be in Shop Pay. Select “Checkout as Guest” to view Flex as a payment method.

What if I don’t have my HSA/FSA card available? +

No problem. At checkout, still select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA.” You can use a standard credit card, and Flex will send you an itemized receipt to submit for reimbursement (as long as the product is eligible).

When should I use my FSA/HSA dollars? +

You can use your HSA/FSA dollars all year long. However, most FSA dollars expire at the end of the year and unused money may not rollover into the next year. Make sure to spend the rest of your FSA dollars before December 31st — use it, so you don’t lose it!

I don’t see the HSA/FSA option at checkout — why? +

This means the product you’re trying to buy isn’t eligible. Only Lulu Pro and Revi Pro+ qualify for HSA/FSA purchases through Flex.

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity (LOMN)? +

A Letter of Medical Necessity (LOMN) is written by a healthcare provider and explains why a treatment or device is needed. For HSA/FSA use, some plans require this letter for expenses not clearly listed under IRS guidelines.

With Flex, if your plan requires an LOMN, you’ll automatically receive one by email within 24 hours of purchase — valid for 12 months.

Why is my HSA/FSA card being declined? +

The most common reasons are:

  • Insufficient funds in your HSA/FSA account
  • Incorrect card details (number, expiration, ZIP code, etc.)

Flex will alert you during checkout if any details are missing or incorrect so you can update them. If funds are the issue, contact your HSA/FSA provider to confirm your balance before trying again.

How long does it take for me to receive my Letter of Medical Necessity? +

Generally it takes 2-5 hours. In some cases, Flex’s provider team will require additional time to issue a letter of medical necessity based on the needs associated with an individual qualification survey. If you aren’t seeing your letter in your inbox, check spam, then reach out to Flex at support@withflex.com

I didn’t receive my Flex email with the receipt or LOMN. What should I do? +

First, check your spam/junk folder — sometimes messages from notifications@withflex.com get filtered. If you still can’t find it, email support@withflex.com with the same email address you used to place your order.

Is there a limit to how much I can spend using my HSA or FSA? +

There’s no set spending cap on eligible devices like Lulu Pro and Revi Pro+. Your only limit is the available balance in your HSA or FSA account.

What documentation should I keep for HSA/FSA purchases? +

Always keep your receipts. Flex provides an itemized receipt with product details, purchase date, and amount paid. Your HSA/FSA administrator may request this for verification.

What happens if I return a product I purchased with my HSA/FSA? +

If you return an eligible Smuuv Body device purchased with HSA/FSA funds, your refund will go back to the original HSA/FSA card you used at checkout. Processing times may vary depending on your plan provider.

Can I get store credit instead of a refund to my HSA/FSA card? +

No. HSA/FSA rules require refunds to go back to the same account used for the original purchase. Store credit or gift cards can’t be issued for these transactions.

Do I still need to keep my receipt if I return a product? +

Yes. Hold on to your Flex receipt and any refund confirmation. Your HSA/FSA administrator may require proof of both the purchase and the refund for their records.

I don’t have an HSA/FSA. Can I still benefit from Flex? +

Unfortunately, Flex’s services are for individuals who have HSA or FSA accounts (or plan to fund one during open enrolment). We encourage you to ask your employer about information on your HSA or FSA!

I don’t live in the US. Can I still get reimbursed with Flex? +

Unfortunately, Flex is currently only available in the United States.
